Work in collaboration with artist Ghislain Brodeur
Kinetic work, wall installation
Dyed PVC tube, white lacquered MDF, UV laser, stepper motor, microcontroller
17 x 10 ¾ x 14 ¼ inches

UV lasers travel in the dyed tubes due to their internal reflection. Under the circular movement of the device, the tubes move and twist, creating visual animation effects similar to the galactic filaments of the cosmic web.

In 2024, Elisabeth Picard and Ghislain Brodeur worked together for the first time as artist-in-residence duo at the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) of Montreal. The residency was a collaboration with the research group led by Bora Ung, Eng., professor of photonics in the Department of Electrical Engineering. The residency program was developed by ÉTS's Arts and Culture Integration Program (PIAC).
